The Thorpe Opera House invites you to visit our lovely community of David City in Butler County, Nebraska! Midwestern Opera Houses represent a rapidly-vanishing phenomenon of our pioneer heritage. At the time The Thorpe Opera House was built, there were more than thirty Opera Houses in Nebraska. Today, there are less than ten functioning Opera Houses left!

If you are looking for a slice of Americana...a taste of Midwestern culture... a unique destination to visit for an evening...or just an evening to remember...... The Thorpe is sure to please.
